Criminology 1100

The Criminology Department at Kwantlen Polytechnic University offers 6 program options for students: Certificate in Criminology, Diploma in Criminology, Associate of Arts Degree in Criminology, Bachelor of Arts in Community Criminal Justice, Bachelor of Arts in Criminology Major and a Criminology Minor for those who wish to obtain a Bachelor of Arts with a double minor. Students can also enroll in Criminology courses to fulfill elective requirements for other programs. Students will examine the core concepts, basic data sources, and general research findings in the field of criminology, with particular attention to Canadian developments. They will study elements of continuity and discontinuity between traditional and contemporary theories of crime, deviance, criminality, and social control. Students will also be exposed to the major forms of criminal behaviour.
